Nintendo announces the first DLC for Tears of the Kingdom featuring a new underwater realm, special weapons, and more challenging bosses.
Nintendo has announced 'The Depths of Lurelin,' the first paid DLC for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The expansion opens an entirely new underwater realm hidden beneath Hyrule, approximately 40% the size of the Great Sky Island, filled with unique environmental puzzles and secrets for Link to uncover.
The DLC introduces a new weapon class called Aqua Weapons with elemental properties that come alive underwater, alongside a new ability called Tidecall that lets Link manipulate currents and water flows during traversal and combat. Five entirely new boss encounters are designed specifically around these new tools, each set to challenge players at a Master Mode level of difficulty.
The DLC's narrative dives into the secrets of an Ancient Zora Civilization buried beneath the ocean, delivering meaningful lore payoffs for players who completed the main story. The expansion is priced at $14.99 on the Nintendo eShop and is compatible with both Switch and Switch 2.
